Day 9: Messina - San Ferdinando

After another sweet breakfast and repaired bicycle we are on board of ferry Messina - Villa San Giovani which is called Fata Morgana. For about half an hour we will be there and then we are starting our ride. At first by the sea and then infinite climb.

We are passing places with beautiful beaches, but now we are too high to go down there. However, the camp we are aiming is on the beach. By the way, somewhere on the hill we are buying full bag of white grapes from some granny for 2€ and soon we will arrive to the drinking water spring. We are filling our bottles, wetting our head tops and cooling down. We had croissant for lunch again. Until now we couldn’t buy pizza or anything salty in any place where was written “pizzeria”. Few more kilometers uphill and after that loooong downhill and road to the camp was waiting for us. We entered one and figured out that it doesn’t have exit to the beach, so we decided to continue for few kilometers along the coast. Finally we came to the Sayonara camp which had the most beautiful beach.
