Day 5: Paola - Villa San Giovanni - Messina - Acireale

8 September, 2016

2 minutes read

Hi.

We woke up at Paola. Yes, Paola is another one of those towns we accidently found ourselves and which we loved for forever. The sea at Calabria is wonderful. Kilometers long beaches, bright and warm sea and nobody nowhere. When it’s not season here is no one from local people. On the 5 kilometers long beach one woman with dog is sunbathing and one company plays beach volleyball. Incredible peace.

After the breakfast we went towards Villa San Giovanni from where we had short sailing to Sicily. Colorful, sunny and tasty.

Yesterday we were riding good 10km through the city and climbed on the top of the mountain in order to get to the Giulia, our friend we stayed at. We made wrong turn once and went to the street which led us whole kilometer down and when we started to climb we figured out that we already were there because we remembered the house with cactuses and three black cats which were sunbathing. It wasnt that funny in those moments of going uphill :)

Sicily is known by its food and different way of making some meals. Giulia took us at some great places last night and there we ate that thing which at the Sicily is called Pizza, and special ice cream - granita, which is made only here and it is eaten with bread (brioche) :)

Greetings from Acireale, we are going to beach!
